Emajean Hayward, 93, of Millersburg passed away at home surrounded by family on June 1, 2026. She was the cherished wife of Norman Hayward, mother of four children; Lynn (Kathy) Hayward, Eric (Donna) Hayward, Allison (Bob) Perras and Elizabeth (Bob) Wallace; grandmother of four, great grandmother of two and extended family including many nieces and nephews. Emajean's entire family will miss her greatly.
Emajean was born at the family farmhouse in Scio, Oregon the 4th child of Blanche and Obadiah Walter Miller on September 15, 1932. She attended school first at the Richardson Gap Schoolhouse then Scio Public Schools, graduating from Scio High School in 1950.
Emajean married Norman in Scio before they moved to Santa Cruz, California while Norman attended Bethany Bible College and Emmajean raised their children returning to Oregon after Norman's graduation. The family settled in Corvallis. Emajean worked as a cook at Samaritan Village and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority then retiring after several years at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Emajean enjoyed music, playing piano for the church and with her children and their stringed instruments. Her favorites were traveling the Oregon coast, reading and being with family and friends.
