Obituary
Eric Stephen Jones, 42, of Independence passed away at home.
Eric was born in Albany to Darrell and Leberta (Atkins) Jones. He grew up in Albany, and graduated from South Albany High School. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church.
Eric spent his entire life in the Willamette Valley and loved being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. He worked around the valley as a truck driver, contractor and most recently as a mechanic. Eric was a hard worker and especially enjoyed working with his hands. He will be remembered as a loving son and a true friend who's laugh brought smiles to everyone around him.
Eric is survived by parents Darrell and Leberta Jones; sister Kimberly (Jones) Anderson and husband Phillip; niece Elizabeth Anderson; and aunt and uncle Elizabeth and Gorden Atkins.
A viewing will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home.
