Ethel "Lavina" PascoeJan. 6, 1915 - June 16, 2008Lavina Pascoe, 93 of Albany died peacefully on Monday at Dallas Retirement Center where she had lived for the last 5 years.Lavina was born in Butte, Mont., to Harry & Ethel (Foran) Watling.  She married Cecil Thomas Pascoe on March 21, 1939, in Butte.  All four of her children were born in Butte.The family moved to Tacoma, Wash., where she was a full time mom, then to Dallas, Oregon.  With the family grown they moved to Sonora, Calif., where she attended Modesto Junior College and Valley Commercial College.  They managed hotels until moving back to Oregon in 1969.  She worked for the State of Oregon at Tongue Point and retired from the University of Oregon administrative staff in 1980 and they moved to Albany.Following her husbands death in 1985 she became very active in St. Mary's parish.  She lived independently for 15 years doing all she could for her family, her church and others.She will be most remembered by family and friends for her strong will, uncompromising values and giving nature.She is survived by her children Ethel Satter and husband Richard of Indiana, Cecilia McCall and husband Harry of Albany, Thomas Pascoe of Albany and James Pascoe of Rosebud, Texas; sister Mary Crooks and husband Ray of Orange, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, her parents and sister Helen Mulholland of Dallas, Ore..There will be a Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany with a burial to follow at Willamette Memorial Park.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
