Eugene "Gene" D. Erwin May 20, 1940 - November 13, 2019

Eugene Daw Erwin passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice in Albany, Oregon.

Gene was born in Shafter, California to E. Patrick and Nora Erwin.

Gene joined the U.S. Airforce in 1961 and served in the active military until 1969.  He then joined the Air National Guard from which he retired in 1989.

Gene went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier and retired as a Post Master.

Gene was married to Edithann Erwin on June 22, 1963.

Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, crocheting and spending time with his family.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Nora Erwin; his brother, Leonard Erwin; his sister, Cathy Wyland; his daughter, Dawn Davis and his son Michael Erwin.

Gene is survived by his wife, Edith Erwin; two daughters, Robin Jackson and Tammy McCombs; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Erwin, Donald Erwin, Dale Erwin and Gary Erwin; and three sisters, Mary Remington, Dorothy Johnston and Janice Erwin.

A Celebration of Life will take place at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home in Albany, Oregon on December 7, 2019, at 1:00 p.m.
