After 85 years of life, love, and adventure, Florence Anderson passed away on June 27, 2023.  Florence was born June 17, 1938, in Sisseton, South Dakota.  Her parents were Erick Anderson from Tjarby, Sweden, and Ethel Swayze from Peever, SD. She was the fourth of six children, with three brothers Clayton, Calvin, and Gordon, and two sisters Mary Lou and Sandra. Florence was a mother to four children and their spouses, a grandmother to nine, and a great-grandmother to seven.  She was also an aunt to many nieces, nephews, and their families.  Florence made friends everywhere she went.  She cherished these friendships and many she adopted into her family. Florence enjoyed living in Albany, Oregon close to her children. She spent lots of time with her family and their extended families, and she rarely missed a family function. Despite her many years away, Florence's heart never left the Black Hills of South Dakota.  She had a deep connection there and lots of family and friends. She visited as often as she could.  She was fiercely independent and very outspoken.  Florence put herself through college while raising her children as a single mother.  She attended Linn Benton Community College. and received an associate's degree in Organic Chemistry, which led to a career at Georgia Pacific in Albany.  She retired from Georgia Pacific in 2003. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, hiking, reading and story writing. Traveling was her biggest passion. Chris, Daniel, Mary, and their families would like to invite everyone who knew and loved our mother to a celebration of life.
