Gabrielle Nicole Smithwick passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Oregon Health Science University Hospital in Portland, OR.

Gabbi was born in Reno, NV to Joanna Paetz and Brian Smithwick. She grew up in Carson City, NV. and attended Jack's Valley Elementary School before moving to Albany, OR in August 2013 and attending Calapooia Middle School and South Albany High School.

In her short time, Gabbi was employed with the Golden Grill before moving on to Pizza Hut to pay for her first car. She had a 4.0 GPA and was scheduled to graduate in June 2019. Gabbi was also a frequent volunteer at the Safehaven Humane Society to provide love to the homeless cats that made their way through.

Gabbi enjoyed photography, writing, reading, and listening to music.

Gabbi is survived by her mother (Joanna Paetz), step-father (Paul Paetz), father (Brian Smithwick), step-mother (Kristyn Smithwick), five sisters (Alexis Paetz, Chrystal Tyson, Jade Barker, Lily Paetz and Kaitlyn Francone), her brother (Jonathan Francone), and various relatives such as aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins, and many friends.
