Gail Patricia King passed away peacefully July 18, 2026. She was born December 22, 1938, in Gardner, MA. Gail grew up in Massachusetts and moved to the Albany area around 1970 with her family.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Rena Brown; brother, Steve Brown; husband, Guilford King; and both her sons, Jeffrey and Mark Mehlhorn. She is survived by her grandchildren, Nathan Mehlhorn, Brandie Savage, and Adri Peterson, and daughter-in-law, Penny Mehlhorn.

Gail retired from Oregon Freeze Dry in 2003, after more than 20 years. She volunteered at Evergreen Hospice House from the time it opened until she gave up driving in 2021. Gail adored her beagle, Willie; basset, Stanley; and Kitty Kitty. She loved working in her yard, doing puzzles, and reading.

The family would like to acknowledge her very special neighbors and friends who were invaluable over the last few years, allowing Gail to live in her own house almost until the end.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that anyone inclined make donations to Evergreen Hospice House in Albany in Gail's name.
