Gary Leroy Borresen, 67 of Jefferson, passed away Tuesday at his home.
He was born in Astoria to Roy and Betty Borresen. He grew up in Eugene. After graduation he enlisted in the Air Force. He served as a Airman 3rd class at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver Col., then joined the 57th Division, Strategic Command at Westover Air Reserve Base, in Chicopee, Mass where he attended missile electricians school. He served during the Vietnam War.
He worked many years for Valley Appliance in Albany as a Television Technician and at Parrotts TV and Appliances in Corvallis. He also worked as a technician for the Oregon State Lottery in Salem.
He enjoyed life and especially his dogs.
He is survived by his loving wife Emily who was his friend and companion for many years; his dogs and birds who he loved more than life itself; brother Mike and wife Suzanne of Buxton; sons Doug and wife Liz of Portland, Dan and wife Kelly of Scio; daughter Tracy Wilder and husband Shaun of Salem; stepsons Shaun Wilder and wife Tracy of Salem, Kelsey Wilder and wife Jackie of Stayton; grandchildren Colby, Trinity, Brianna, Kaitlyn, Austin, Autumn and Hanna; aunt Marion Livingston of Salem; cousins Marnie Kalal and husband Fred of Longview, Wash., Julie Williams and husband Clark of Salem; mother-in-law Sylvia Zelenka of Scio; many nieces and nephews; ex-wives Karen Sparks of Wash., and Susan Swan of Salem. He was preceded in death by his father Roy; mother Betty; uncle Oliver Livingston; and stepson Matt.
A gathering for friends and family will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Plantation Inn in Jefferson.
