Six of their seven children were born there. In 1960 they moved back to Oregon and their seventh child was born.

Gayle was an Avon lady for 22 years, a kindergarten bus driver for her church, she volunteered at the election precinct and delivered meals on wheels for more than 15 years. She loved Monday nights with her friends, ceramics and working in her church Sunday school office for many years. She and her husband, Art were very involved in their church, Albany First Assembly of God.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Wesley Pitts of Arizona, younger brother Huey Pitts of Salem, and oldest son David Arthur Jensen of Milwaukie.
