Genevieve "Gen" Catherine SartorySeptember 25, 1915 - October 11, 2008Gen C. Sartory, 93 of Albany, passed away Saturday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Amil and Winifred (Burke) Zinn.  She was raised in the Brooklyn Queens area and married August G. Sartory in Brooklyn in the mid 1940s.  They came to Albany in 1950 and have been here since that time.  Gen's husband August preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1973.  Gen enjoyed watching football and baseball and was an avid Dodgers fan.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.She is survived by daughter Pat Levelle of Portland; son Michael Sartory of Oregon and step-daughter Helen LaBita of Queens, N.Y.; two step-grandchildren; serveral great-stepgrandchildren;  nephews and nieces Calvin and Donald Tigner, Burnadette Hefky, and Mickey Eads; and many great-nieces and nephews.A visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Willamette Memorial Park. Memorial contibutions may be made to Safe Haven Animal Shelter and sent in care of the funeral home.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling arrangements  ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
