George Amos Yother Jr.September 24, 1922 - February 26, 2008George Amos Yother Jr. was born in Denning, Ark., to George and Creasie Yother. He served in themilitary from 1943 - 1945.He lived in Arkansas, Wyoming and California before moving to Oregon in 1963. He has lived in Albany since 1966.George married Nadine Rowe on September 24, 1945. They had six sons. He loved to help people and he worked hard to provide for his family. He was a gifted musician and able to play multiple instruments. His love of music was passed on to his sons as well as his grandchildren.He was a very active and hard-working man. Whether he was busy chatting with a total stranger, cutting firewood or working in the yard, he was always fully invested in the task at hand. He was known as a father, grandfather and friend.George is survived by sons George David, James Melvin, Robert Glen, Billy Wayne, Donald Ray and Allen Leon; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine, and son Wayne.Memorial Service will be Sunday, March 2 at 3 p.m. at the Lebanon Christian Center, 665 Airport Rd, Lebanon. A potluck will follow.
