Georgia Margaret Cate passed away Wednesday evening from an extended illness, in the comfort of her own home. She was 64 years old.
Georgia was born, raised and lived all her life in Albany, OR. She attended and graduated from West Albany High School with the class of 1970.
In 1971, she married Jed Elmo Jr "Butch" Dyer (he passed in July 2009) and they had 2 sons.
Georgia was an avid collector of knick-knacks and odds and ends. She enjoyed her close friends, family, and especially her Shih Tzu Charlie Brown.
Georgia is survived by her two sons Keith (Valerie) Dyer of Albany and Tim Dyer also of Albany; grandchildren Tatum Spowehn, Mckayla Dyer, Madilyn Dyer, Abigail Dyer, and River Jed Dyer; brothers Mike (Dawn) Cate of Albany and Bob (Susie) Cate of Albany.
Georgia is preceded in death by both her parents Douglas and Zella Cate.
A celebration of Georgia's life will be held at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 22. It is an open house gathering from 10 am to noon. Please bring pictures and stories to share.
