Gilberto Yzaguirre was born in Edcouch Texas December 25, 1957 to Guadalupe and Sara Izaguirre who eventually moved their family to Oregon where he grew up in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School. He would go on to get a degree in automotive and paint.

In 1981 Gilbert met Lourdes Martinez at a dance and was married in 1983, where they began to raise their children Michael, Raul, Joshua, Melissa and Amelina.

Gilbert's next journey led him to become Mayor of the city of Jefferson. Gilbert's passion for automotive and paint would continue for years until he would retire.

His greatest achievement was becoming a Grandpa to 10 grandchildren TyNisha, Michael III, Khloe, Loukas, Moriah, Madeline, Lakai, Kayley, Cara and Wyatt.

He is survived by his family and friends and loved by the community and will greatly be missed.
