Gladys Bell Gregg, 100, of Corvallis passed away on Wednesday at Health at Heart Adult Foster Care in Albany.
Gladys was born in Adair, Iowa, the daughter of James Warren and Barbara Grace (Cooper) Kinnaird. She spent her younger years on the family farm in Iowa. She graduated from Corning High School in May 1932. She attended Iowa State Teachers College. After completing her courses, she received her teaching certificate and then for a couple of years taught grade school in rural Adams County, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Gloyd M. Gregg of Worth County, Mo., on Feb. 21, 1937, in Corning, Iowa. They made their home in Mexico, Mo., before moving out to Oregon with their families.
Preceding Gladys in death were her husband of 35 years, Gloyd Gregg; one daughter, Carmen K. Schmidt of Corvallis; and one brother, Fred Kinnaird of Silverton.
Surviving family members include two sons, David Gregg and wife Gloria of Sublimity, and Steve Gregg and wife Bonnie of Albany; three sisters, Mary Nemchick of Albany, Barbara Keeler of Albany and Phyllis Hickey of New Plymouth, Idaho; brother John Kinnaird of Salem; and six great-grandchildren.
A private family burial will take place at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
