Obituary

Glenda Isabelle Stevens

Glenda (also known as Izzy) was born in Lebanon, Oregon on February 12, 1954, and passed away on December 28, 2023, in Albany, Oregon. She is survived by her two children, Frank Stevens and Jessica Janssen, and her grandchildren, Ariah and Jordan Stevens and Evelyn and Luke Janssen (and grand dogger, Maddie). She also leaves behind her stepfather, William Friar; two brothers, Glen Jones and Ed Milligan; and two sisters, Connie Weissbeck and Linda Gustafson.

Glenda worked in the travel industry and had a love for travel and adventure. She started working as a travel agent and then found her long-term career as a reservation agent with United Airlines. While with United she lived in Walnut Creek, California; Everett, Washington; and Honolulu, Hawaii. She loved her United Family and made many memories and friendships that she cherished.

As a single mother of twins, Glenda worked tirelessly to provide her children with opportunities she never had and was always trying to make sure they had the best. She loved cheering her kids on at their sporting events and then spending as much time as she could in recent years with their kids, her grandchildren.

Glenda was a strong, funny, smart, resilient woman who advocated for doing the right thing regardless the circumstances. She was our Rock. She was also silly and enjoyed coming up with silly nicknames. Some of her favorite activities included playing cards, playing games on her computer, going to the beach (her favorite beach was Waimanalo on Oahu), and especially playing with her grandbabies. She was a true animal lover, but never wanted one of her own. She liked to spoil other's pets. She enjoyed feeding the neighborhood squirrels and whistling to the local birds who nested on her lanai in Hawaii.

Mom missed her mother immensely who passed away in 2003 and we are certain they are laughing and hugging in Heaven. You will be forever missed and loved, my sweet, beautiful mom.
