Obituary

Glenn Dailey, 86, of Albany passed away Tuesday morning at his home.

He was born in Herrin, Ill., the only son of Ardell and Ethel (Williams) Dailey. Raised in Herrin, Glenn enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Dutchess. While in the service Glenn met Esther Faye Endicott when on leave in Renton, Wash., - she was working as a "Rosie the Riveter" - and they married in Seattle, Wash., on Oct 14, 1944.

After his discharge in 1946, Glenn and Esther moved back to Herrin. In 1954 they moved to Southern Oregon and settled in the Grants Pass/Roseburg areas. They then moved to the Salem area in 1962 and Shedd in 1964. Glenn worked as a bread salesman for Table Pride, Patterson Bakery and Wonder Bread. He retired in 1980. He enjoyed fishing, World War II history and his computer. Glenn had a wonderful sense of humor and loved his family.

Glenn was a past master at the Shedd Masonic Lodge, a member of the American Legion Post 10 and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Esther Faye Dailey of Albany; daughters Kay McCammon of Lebanon and Cindy Lehto of Albany; son Dennis Dailey of Albany; sister Gaynell Crowe of Loves Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
