Guilford M. (Gil) King, 89, of Albany, died June 28th at Regency Nursing Home after a long illness. He was born on June 30th, 1921 in Harrisonville, MO. The son of Emery and Pearl (Roth) King. He attended school in Missouri until 1929 when the family moved to Minnesota. He completed school there.
He married Ruth Johnson in December, 1941. He was employed as a farm worker for many years. He moved to North Dakota in 1943 and worked many jobs there. His wife passed away in 1958.
He moved to Albany, OR in 1980. He worked at the Mennonite Home until he retired in 1985. He attended First Assembly of God Church where he met and married Gail (Mehlhorn) King in 1981.
He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He also enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee at the Tom Tom.
He is survived by his wife, Gail, son, Harold (Hal), who is living in Australia, daughters, Mary, Vancouver, WA, Carole, Kathy and Pearl, who are all living in North Dakota. His son Wayne preceded him in death.
There will be no services. The children will hold a memorial service in North Dakota next month at the family reunion.
