Hazel Jane TannSept. 12, 1919 - April 24, 2009Hazel Jane Tann, 89 of Albany, passed away Friday, at Timberview Care Center in Albany.She was born in New Ulm, Minn. the daughter of Henry and Agusta (Ebenhoh) Guemmer. She was raised in New Ulm and graduated from school there. Hazel married Jess V. Tann in 1941 in New Ulm and they lived in a number of military bases including Fort Stevens when it was attacked by a Japanese submarine. Hazel and Jess came to the Albany area in 1948 and built the home she resided in until a year ago when she moved into Timberview. They had a son Jess V. Tann Jr. and Hazel and Jess Sr. divorced in 1965. Hazel worked 30 years for Garlands Nursery and very much enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques, and her pets.She is survived by her son Jess Tann Jr. of Albany and was preceded in death by two sisters Lavern and Helen and one brother James.Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, from noon to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with private burial to follow at Shedd Cemetery.
