Helen F. (Warning) CarnahanApril 28, 1922 - August 25, 2009Helen Carnahan, 87, passed away from cancer on Tuesday into the loving arms of Jesus at the Mennonite Home in Albany.She was born in Max, near Benkelman, Neb., the daughter of Jacob Warning and Beulah (Edwards) Hunter.  She spent her younger years in Nebraska and Colorado before moving with her family to Corvallis in 1935.  She made her home in Corvallis, Albany and Springfield for many years.  She retired from Corvallis School District in 1980 where for many years she worked in the kitchen at Garfield Grade School.  After retirement she traveled a lot with her husband, enjoying many parts of the world and the United States.She enjoyed her craft work making dolls, cross stitching and bead work for herself as well as for her family, and visiting the Oregon Coast with her family and friends. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Albany.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Art Otto Sr., Harley Long and Carl Carnahan; sister Lila (Warning) Bennett; and oldest son Delwood Otto. She is survived by daughters, Donna (Otto) and husband Clyde Jackson of Bend, Gloria (Otto) and husband Dave Gregg of Albany, and Linda (Long) Ellington of Albany; son Art Otto Jr. and wife Pat of Estacada; stepson David Long of Corvallis; brother Leonard Warning of Portland; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many more wonderful family members and friends.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.  A funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.  Private graveside will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Albany. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
