Ione Helen CorreiaDec. 18,1933 - Nov. 28, 2009 Ione Helen Correia, 75 of Albany passed away Saturday in Salem. She was born in Beacon, N.Y., to Ralph and Helen (Kennedy) Graham. Ione grew up in Wappingers, N.Y. She joined the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school. While in the Air Force, Ione met John Louis Correia and was married on April 19, 1954. They were married nearly 55 years. In Ione's lifetime she lived in various states following John's Air Force career. The family moved from Martha's Vineyard to Albany in 1968 until June of 1986 at which time John and Ione moved back to Martha's Vineyard where she was employed as a Home Health Care Aide. In October of 2001 John and Ione moved to Albany to be closer to their family. Ione is survived by her children, Ray Correia and wife Pat, Cathy Gienger and husband Bob, Stephen Correia and wife Marcella, Mike Correia and wife Cheryl, John M. Correia, Helen Correia, and Al Correia; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Rosemary Shirley of Pennsylvania and Virginia Feck of Jefferson; and brother Mike Graham of Albany.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and brother Arthur Graham. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albany.  In lieu of flowers please make your donation to Parkinson Center of Oregon, 3181 SW Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201-3098. AAsum-Dufour Funeral home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
