Irene McKenzie Reese, 84, departed this life Sunday evening in her home in Albany.

Irene was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., to mother Ellen Dempsey Hughes and father David John McKenzie.

Her brother, David, and sister Lettitia preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Brian.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Reese. Other survivors are four nieces, Janet Irene McKenzie of Santa Ana, Calif., Carol Huebert of McCloud, Calif., Jennifer Michal of Chandler, Ariz., and Diane Kirstine of Albany; and four nephews, Chuck Huebert of McCloud, Calif., Jim McKenzie of Albany, Ron McKenzie of Albany and David J. McKenzie of Poway, Calif.

Irene was an exceptionally caring and devoted wife and aunt, and worried about everyone except herself. Anyone who knew Irene found her very loving and with a great sense of humor.

She had been a talented singer in her youth and performed on radio in Pittsburgh.

Irene and Bob met a Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, Calif.., and were happily married for 44 ½ years. They just recently renewed their wedding vows for the third time on Aug. 27.

Plans are not complete yet, but a memorial at St. Mary's Church is in mind.

Irene will be missed until we all meet again in heaven.
