Obituary

Jack Fettig, 88, of Jefferson passed away Wednesday evening at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Halliday, ND the son of Thomas and Regina (Bosch) Fettig. Jack grew up in Halliday on the family farm and enlisted in the U.S. Army Feb. 27, 1945. He served until his honorable discharge in Oct. of 1946.

Jack moved to the west coast and drove truck until he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in March of 1952 and served until his honorable discharge in Sept. of 1953. Jack then moved to California where he worked for 27 years in the carpenters union #1280. After he retired he drove his own tractor for North American Van Lines.

He married Rose on April 2, 1989 in Las Vegas, NV. For their honeymoon, they did mission work and traveled around the United States. They later settled on a small farm in Williams, CA. In 1996 they moved to Jefferson where they built their own home on a 55-acre farm. Jack and Rose began attending Jefferson Baptist Church in 1996 and truly enjoyed the Christian worship and the fellowship they received.

Jack is survived by sons Gary Fettig of Monmouth, and David Fettig of Freemont, CA.; daughter Melanie Fernside of Morgan Hill, Calif., and step-daughter Sunnie Burnham of Jefferson; grandchildren Amanda, Tiffany, Erin, Katelyn, Amber, Amy, Allison, Kim, and Kellie; and brother "Wendy" Fettig of Billings, Montana. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.
