Obituary
James Stephen Basey Sr., 88, of Albany passed away on Friday at his home.
James was born in Prineville to Steven and Margaret (McCullough) Basey. He grew up in Prineville and served in the U.S. Army. After his discharge, he married Marie "Claire" Bosse in Prineville on Oct. 5, 1947. They moved to Albany in 1974 and James worked for Willamette Industries for 21 years retiring in 1991.
James is survived by sons Jim S. Basey Jr. of Salem and Al Shultz of San Jose, California; daughters Dinah Basey-McKay of Boulder, Colorado, and Marjorie Anne Basey of Albany; granddaughter Sarah Ann Basey of Albany; grandson Anthony T. Schultz of San Jose, California; and sister Helen L. Schnabele of Burns.
A rosary prayer service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday followed by funeral liturgy at 11 a.m., both at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A graveside will follow at Willamette Memorial Park.
