IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Allen
Reeves
February 23, 1945 – October 8, 2018
Jim Reeves passed peacefully away on Monday, October 8, 2018, in Albany, OR. He was surrounded by loved ones in his final days and hours, where soft music was played and memories were shared.
Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois to David and Amelia Reeves. He moved to Salem, OR. during his childhood, living much of his childhood and early adulthood at Fairview Training Center. Jim joined Chamberlin House, Inc., in 1998, where he remained until his final days.
Jim was a hard-working man, always taking pride in doing his best. He spent many years working at Center Enterprises, which later became Co-Opportunity Inc. Jim worked on the grounds and horticulture crews; mowing lawns, pruning shrubs and watering gardens. Jim loved the outdoors, so this job suited him perfectly. Jim retired in 2016.
Being an avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed spending time in the wilderness; camping and fishing were two of his favorite pastimes. He would share stories about bears he saw while camping, giving advice on what to do if you spotted one! Jim enjoyed the simple things in life; gardening, playing cards, western movies, listening to good music, good food, ("The Colonel" was his favorite) and spending time with friends.
Jim was a man of faith, and enjoyed talking about God in Heaven. He attended First Christian Church in Albany, OR, for many years, until increasing health issues prevented him from doing so. He loved listening to/singing Christian music, watching his "church shows" as he called them, and having the bible/bible stories read to him.
Jim was a tender-hearted man, kind, giving and compassionate to all he knew. He will be missed by his friends, but will remain forever in our hearts.
