Jean Louise Baker, 85, of Albany passed away Tuesday at the Mennonite Home.
She was born in Halsey the daughter of Harry G. and Emma J. (Henry) Bressler. She was raised in Halsey and lost her parents when she was 13. She was then raised by her aunt.
Jean married Donald "Don" Baker in Vancouver, Wash., on Nov. 23, 1946, after his return from serving in World War II. They made their home in Halsey and opened a grocery store, gas station and automotive garage and ran them for four years before moving into the Albany area where they operated a 25-acre farm. They moved back to Halsey in 1969.
Jean enjoyed camping and fishing with her family at Clear Lake, Carmen and Fish Lake. She enjoyed years of gardening with Grandpa, dinners on Sundays with friends and family and playing canasta and letting the grandkids win. She was loved and will be missed by all.
She is survived by children Linda Swanson, Doug Baker and Donna Alloway, all of Albany; grandchildren Kevin and DeeDee Swanson, Brian and Kristie Swanson, Aaron Swanson, Steven Baker and Shauna Alloway, all of Albany; seven great-grandchildren; brother Harry G. Bressler Jr. of Eugene; and sister Frances Bressler of LaPine.
Private family services will be held. Private burial took place at Alford Cemetery.
