Obituary

Jerry Lyle Coe, 66, passed away at his home, Saturday, October 9, 2010.

Jerry was born on September 2, 1944, in LaGrande, Oregon, to Sara Mae and Lyle Coe. He lived in Elgin, Oregon until the age of eight, at which time he relocated to Albany, Oregon with his Mom, Sara Mae, and his Dad, Edwin "Tuffy" Horn. He graduated from Albany Union High School in 1964. That same year he was married to Penny Curtis and they had two sons, Jerry and Chad.

He worked many jobs in his early years and in November of 1964 he started as a jitney driver at Duraflake in Albany. He retired from there as a sander operator and was number one in seniority after 43 years of service. Jerry always took great pride in providing for his family.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, riding his motorcycle, flying, shooting his many guns, and spending time with his close friends at Elmer's.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Noni, the love of his life; sons, Jerry Coe of Albany and Chad Coe of Korea; Dad, Tuffy Horn of Hermiston, Oregon; sister, Emily Faul (Don) of Kennewick, Washington;, and brothers, Mark Horn (Cari) of Hermiston, Oregon; Andy Coe (Teresa) of Twin Falls, Idaho and Joe Coe of Texas; stepchildren, Jonathan Dunn, Geoffrey Dunn, Nathan Dunn, Nicole Ritter and Courtney Garcia; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his Mom, Sara Mae Horn and Father, Lyle Coe.

A memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, at First Assembly in Albany, Oregon.
