Jim E. Kennedy

February 21, 1955 – December 6, 2016

Jim Eugene Kennedy, 61, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016 in his home while surrounded by his close friends and family.

Jim was born to Bob and Norma (Stepp) Kennedy in Lebanon, OR and raised in Brownsville, OR. He moved to Lebanon, OR in 1984 where he would reside for the remainder of his life.

He worked for Willamette Industries currently known as Weyerhaeuser. He started as a logger and advanced into many different capacities.

Jim married Diane Thompson, March, 22 1976.

Jim was a member of King's Chapel Assembly of God in Lebanon, OR.

Jim enjoyed casting the rod into all bodies of water, but most of all the Umpqua River. He spent hours creating wooden works of art for his friends and family. He loved his grandkids with a passion. It was not uncommon to hear his laughter accompanied by the laughter or squeals of his grandkids. He could build a fire that singed the tail of the neighbor's livestock up the road.

Jim will always be remembered for his smile, laugh, and the loving looks he frequently bestowed upon the love of his life, his wife Diane.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Bob Kennedy, mother Norma Kennedy, and brother Wade.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane (Thompson) Kennedy; sons Robert Kennedy and wife Kristen and  Justin Kennedy and wife Annette; 7 grandchildren - Danika, Hannah, RJ, Jaymeson, Jessalyn, Boe, and Jazmyn; and many close friends.

A reception will take place immediately following the service at the home of Tony and Fran Vandenbos at 36645 Gore Dr., Lebanon, OR 97355.
