John "Johnny" D. McCannJanuary 18, 1938 - August 6, 2008John McCann, 70 of Albany, passed away Wednesday, August 6, at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.He was born January 18, 1938 in Bennington, Oklahoma the son of Obie and Ruby (Robinson) McCann.  He was raised in Oklahoma and enlisted in the United States Navy in 195   and served in the Korean conflict until his discharge in 195  .  He married Mary Ann Dixon on September 6, 1958 in Santa Paula, CA. and they resided in Santa Paula until moving to Albany, OR in 1969.  Johnny worked for Georgia Pacific for five years before going to work for Wah Chang where he retired in 2000.Johnny enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and was a craftsman spending many hours in his shop.He is survived by his wife of almost fifty years Mary Ann McCann of Albany;  daughter Denise Lane of Stillwater, OK.; sons Robert and Larry McCann both of Albany; brother Obie McCann Jr. of Stockton, CA.; and sisters Maxine Sumner and Millie Guthrie both of Sweet Home; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by son Kenneth and brothers Carl, Harold, and Randal.Visitation will be Friday, August 8, from 3 to 7 P.M. at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, at 2 P.M. at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home with graveside to follow at Waverly Memorial Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and can be sent in care of the funeral home.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling arrangements.  ( www.aasum-dufour.com )
