John Adam Griensewic

John Adam Griensewic, 92, of Albany passed away Sunday evening at Timberwood Court.
He was born in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Carl and Vera (Petrikas) Griensewic. He was raised in Sioux City and married Helen Bouria there. In 1941 John and Helen moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where he worked for Lockheed. They came to Albany after World War II and John worked for Malarky and Sons Plywood that was later bought out by Simpsons. John worked as a dryer tender and retired in 1981. He enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting.
John is survived by son Larry Griensewic of Albany; daughter and son-in-law Dave and Johnette Brown of Albany; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; brothers Carl, Charles, Nick and Peter; and daughter-in-law Leona Griensewic.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 19, at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland.
