John Fred KauffmanSept. 12, 1952 - Sept. 24, 2008John Fred Kauffman, 56, of Lebanon passed away Wednesday at his home.  He was born in Lebanon to Isaac Fred and Velma Belle (Headings) Kauffman.  He was raised in Scio and graduated from Scio High School in 1972.  In 1974 he married Donna Kay Miller and they made their home in Lebanon. John worked as a forklift operator for Champion and then Simplot in Shedd.  He enjoyed collecting old coins and bottles.  He was an encourager to many and his love for the Lord Jesus radiated from his being even through the battle of MS and then cancer.  He dearly loved his family and friends, but looked forward to being freed from his body and in the arms of his Heavenly Father. John is survived by wife Donna; sons Ben and wife Mandy Kauffman of Albany, Eric and wife Kim Kauffman of Salem, and Micah Kauffman of Lebanon; brothers Tony and wife Sharon Nofziger of Medford, Doug and wife Carol Miller of Albany, Delvin and wife Rose King of Lebanon, Mark and wife Julie Miller of Corvallis, Cletus and wife Jody Miller of Lebanon; sister in law Laverne Nofziger of Albany; mother in law Norvene Miller of Corvallis; and granddaughter Alexis.He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Olen Nofziger, and father in law Kermit Miller.A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Mennonite Church with burial to follow at Fairview Mennonite Cemetery.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
