John A. Wahl, 92, of Albany, formerly of Langlois, died Saturday.
John was born in Wabasha, Minn., and moved to Oregon with his brother and mother around 1942. John was the son of Henry Lawrence and Mary McGuire Wahl, and is survived by his nine children, Tasha, Pat, Terry, Tooz, Pete, Buck, Mike, Mary and Tony; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John's brother, Larry, predeceased him.
John was principal of Pacific High School in Langlois for many years, and prior, he was a teacher in Langlois and Port Orford. He was a Lt. Col. in the Air Force, having served in China during World War II and in the reserves afterward. He had a terrific sense of humor, laughed easily and was an exceptionally avid reader. He loved to travel and made many trips to Portugal, Hawaii and other favorite places.
At John's request, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Pacific High School Scholarship Fund.
