Joseph "Joe" Daniel Gooch, 39, of Albany passed away Sunday evening at his home.
He was born in Portland and raised in Klamath Falls. Joe attended Mazama High School where he was active in football, wrestling and track and field. While in his senior year, Joe pre-enlisted in the U.S. Marines and after graduation served eight years in the Marines and then enlisted in the U.S. Army for eight more years before his medical retirement. He graduated from U of O and enjoyed golf, camping, fishing, hunting, target shooting and snow boarding. He married Christy Conforti in January of 2010.
Joe is survived by wife, Christy Gooch of Albany; daughters Zoey Victoria Gooch of Germany and Brielle McCarthy of Albany; sons Braydan McCarthy of Albany and Bryen Conforti of Portland; mother Bonnie and husband Ted Duell of Klamath Falls; father Ken Gooch and wife Joanne of Klamath Falls; mother and father-in-Law Nick and Jeanine Carter of Portland; aunt and uncle Dave and Martha Bland of Klamath Falls; and Aunt Judy Weatherbee of Joshua Tree, Calif.
Joe was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Gooch.
A celebration of life will be at noon Thursday, July 21, at the funeral home.
