Josephine Cunningham, 82, passed away peacefully at home in Albany with her family beside her on July 10.
"Jo" as she was affectionately known, was born Josephine Hazel Whitehead in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada. She later moved to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and eventually to Oregon. Jo worked for her son, Dustan E. Johnson, in his law office in Albany for many years.
Jo will be fondly remembered for her beautiful gardens, love of butterflies, the myriad of embroidery, knitting, needlepoint and crochet work she so passionately loved, and most notably, her distinctive unique personality.
Jo is survived by one son, a beloved 35-year companion, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews who live in Canada.
A family celebration of life will be held for Jo in August.
