Joseph V. ColettiJuly 1, 1928 - Feb. 17, 2009Joseph Valentino Coletti, 80 of Philomath died Tuesday at the Corvallis Manor.He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., to Chris and Mildred (Raima) Coglietti.Joe spent two years in the Navy, and then in 1949 he married Betty Jean Douglas. They had four children together.Joe was a devoted family man and avid motorsports fan and participant. He was involved in the automobile business his entire life either as owner of a car dealership or race track in Oregon and Arizona. He battled Alzheimers Disease the last five years of his life when he came to live near his daughter in Philomath.Joe was past president of both the Hillsboro Lions Club and the Hillsboro Chamber of Commerce.Joe is survived by daughter Cindy and husband Sherm Whitlock of Philomath and Christy Coglietti of Midvale, Ohio; grandsons Troy Whitlock of Ft. Morgan, Colo., Joseph Whitlock of Corvallis, and Dustin Marsau of Portland; and granddaughter Desiree Marsau of Portland.He was preceded in death by his parents Chris and Mildred Coglietti; sons Mark and Dean Coglietti; and wife Betty Coglietti.No public service will be held.
