Obituary

Juan Mendez Cordova, 82, passed away Monday.

He was born in Rocksprings, Texas, to Jose Cordova and Angelita Mendez.

At age 15 he started shearing sheep and then picking cotton in Arizona where he met his beautiful wife, Juanita and married her on Jan. 3, 1949.

In 1953 he moved his wife Juanita and his four children, Juan, Gloria, Guadalupe and Petra to California, where they resided in Rancho Cordova and then settling in Folsom. He had a passion for construction and building both at home and as a career working for Teichert & Son Inc. for 32 years. After retiring he moved to Philomath in 1990 where he was able to finally raise his own flock of sheep and chickens, and continue his love of shearing sheep for himself and local farmers.
