Juan (JJ) Jose Mendoza-Torrez left this earth at the age of 37 on the early morning of October 27th, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon. Juan (who preferred "JJ") was born to his father, Juan Jose Torrez and his mother, Diana Mendoza on August 13th 1988, in Albany, Oregon. JJ enjoyed working in trades with his most notable jobs being in construction and welding (he even lied about his age when he was 16 to get a job with an 18 year old age requirement). He was a teen dad and dropped out of high school his junior year to take care of his first born son, Isaiah, but did get his GED. JJ always loved fishing, camping, going to parks, going on walks, movies, bike rides, documentaries, podcasts, and spending time with his family, especially his children. He often kept to himself, but because he was a family man, he was very extroverted with his family. He took life very seriously, often would be described as "hard headed", but he had his sense of humor/goofy side around those that knew him well. He is survived by his wife, Ashley Lizette Mendoza-Torrez. His children, Isaiah Gabriel Torrez, Josiah Micheal Torrez, and Emarie Rose Mendoza-Torrez. His parents, Diana (Linda) Mendoza and Juan Jose Torrez. His grandparents, Edwarda Mendoza and Tirso Mendoza. His aunt and uncle, Angelina Marie Connell and Shannon Patrick Connell. His cousins, Monica Hoang-Pedersen, Nicholas Thanh Hoang, and Nathan Patrick Mendoza-Connell. His aunt and uncle, Rebeca C Moreno and Steven Carlos Mendoza Sr. His cousins, Priscilla Alexandra Parten and Steven (Stevie) Carlos Mendoza Jr. He is also survived by countless other family members as well as friends of the family who loved him dearly.
