Juanice Marie SmithJuly 28, 1921 - June 18, 2009Juanice Marie Smith, 87 of Albany passed away Thursday in Dallas.She was born in Hubbard to Benjamin and Irene (Sumpf) Thayer.  She grew up in Scio and graduated from Scio High School in 1939.  In 1941 she married George W. Smith.  George passed away in a plane crash in 1971.Juanice was a very active at Free Methodist Church in Albany and she enjoyed decorating.Juanice is survived by son David M. Smith of Dallas; grandson Benjamin Smith of Beaverton and grandaughter Sarah Smith of Tigard.  She was preceded in death by her husband George and sisters Edris and Lila.A graveside service will be 3 pm Friday at Willamette Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
