Obituary
June Owrey, 91, of Albany passed away Wednesday, July 18, at Timberwood Court Memory Care.
June was born in Lancaster, Pa., to Herbert and Catherine (Horting) Welder. She was raised in Pennsylvania and attended nursing school until her marriage to Robert Howard Owery on Dec. 5, 1945, in West Lawn, Pa.
June enjoyed traveling. She served as the medical auxiliary president in the School for the Deaf in Tampa, Fla., and started a pet therapy in Tampa in the 1970s.
June is survived by daughter Kathleen Owrey of Albany; son Jeffrey Owrey of Eugene; and brother Herbert Welder of Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by husband, Dr. Robert H. Owery, in 2007.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home.
