Kenneth "Sam" Dale Cosler, 93, of Albany passed away June 30 at his home.
He was born in Canton, Ill., the son of Jacob Gilbert and Ina Victoria (Williams) Cosler. He married Charlotte Marie Hansen on Nov. 20, 1942, and she preceded him in death on March 19, 2010.
Sam worked for over 30 years as a switchman for the railroad and after retirement, enjoyed farming. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
He is survived by sons Galen Cosler of Lynden, Wash., and Ronald Cosler of Corvallis; daughter Norma Cosler of Cosmopolis, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister Wilma Johnston of Portland.
He was preceded in death by son Dennis Cosler; brothers Claude, Keith and Robert; and sister Vivian Schliep.
A visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at the funeral home. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 16, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Albany. Private family burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
