Kristin J. EspeAug. 20, 1943 - Oct. 5, 2007 Kris J. Espe, 64, of Albany passed away peacefully Friday in her sleep at Samaritan Albany General Hospital with loved ones gathered around her.She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Clair L. and Janis R. (Anson) Shewalter. Kris was raised in Iowa and graduated from Albion High School. She married John E. Espe in Columbia, S.C., on Sept. 15, 1964, while John was in the service. John and Kris came to Albany in July 1969. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Kris went to work for Linn-Benton Community College in the Registration and Administration Department and worked there for more than 25 years. She enjoyed reading, crafts, sewing, calligraphy, tole painting and her flowers. Kris did volunteer work in the schools for her children and grandchildren.She is survived by husband of 43 years John E. Espe of Albany; daughter Jennifer, husband David Lynch and their children, Johnathon, Eric and Joseph of Albany; daughter Rhonda, husband Michael McKibben and their children Cassondra and Michael of Albany; daughter Shelly, husband Martin Willard and their children, Jordan, Brandon and Raven of Lebanon; great-grandson Juston Lynch; sisters Karen Shirk of Des Moines, Iowa, Andrea Furdaus of Lakeworth, Fla., and Linnette Griffith of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and brother Robert Timmons Shewalter of Lakeworth. Brother Michael preceded her in death.Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
