Yvonne Johnson, 65, of Albany, passed away Sunday, August 19, at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland as the result of a bicycling accident. She was born September 12, 1941 in Lebanon, Oregon the daughter of Edward George and Clara Evelyn (Dawson) Perry. Her father was killed in a logging accident when she was nine. She was raised by her stepfather Stanley "Papa" Garwood her mother. She attended Shedd grade school and graduated with the first graduating class of Central Linn High School 1959. Yvonne also graduated from Phagan's Beauty School in Portland, OR and was still working part-time as a beautician. She married Barry A. Johnson on April 30, 1991, in Reno, NV., and together they where active members of the Willamette Valley Chapter Studebaker Club and delivered for Meals on Wheels in Albany. Yvonne enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, bicycling, flower gardening, and her cat Sammy. She is survived by her husband Barry A. Johnson of Albany; daughters Darci R. Garwood of Albany, Norma G. Solem of Roseburg and Mary Jane Jaeckel of Fresno, CA.; sons Mark A. Johnson of Helena, MT., and Philip R. Johnson of Kennewick, WA.; grandchildren Ali L., Sara, Christine, Brandon, Tyler, Zachary, and Cameron; sister Donna Cowdrey of Brownsville; and stepsister Margaret Hardeland of Everett, WA. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, and stepsisters Clara Marie Martin and Donna Jean Rufener. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 23, at 1:00 PM at Grace Bible Fellowship in Tangent.
