Obituary

LaVon Juanita Red, 83, of Brownsville passed away Saturday at her home.

She was born in San Bernardino, Calif., to Raymond and Velma Pepper.

On Aug. 8, 1947, she married Thomas Allen Red. LaVon and Tom raised three sons: David, Michael and Robert.

LaVon worked for the seed packing warehouse and the field burning office, both in Halsey for a number of years. She was also an education assistant for Central Linn Elementary School for many years, and then became the secretary at Central Linn High School until she retired in 1987.

LaVon volunteered in many ways in her community including the library, Sharing Hands and Senior Citizens. She loved planting flowers, being a part of Carriage Me Back skits, reading and camping. And we shall never forget her love for baseball all season long. Most important to LaVon was her family.

She was always a thoughtful, loving, and caring wife, mother and friend, who was a huge proponent of "learning those multiplication tables!" She will be missed by many.

LaVon is survived by her husband, Tom of Brownsville; son David, wife Linda Red of Brownsville and children Tony Lindbo and Tiffany Henderson; son Bob Red of Springfield; granddaughter Mickey Parvin of Albany; grandson Curt Red of Eugene; great-grandchildren Breanna Lindbo, Cole Lindbo, AAron Henderson, Colvin Parvin and Damion Red.

She was preceded in death by son Mike Red in 1975.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at Brownsville Pioneer Cemetery in Brownsville.
