Leona Ruth WhiteheadJuly 10, 1922 - January 8, 2009Leona R. Whitehead was born in Reed, Oklahoma to Henry T. and Lizzie A. (McDuff) Hash. During World War II Leona workd for the Ration Board in Oklahoma. She met Raymond H. Whitehead when he was stationed in Oklahoma.  They were married Dec. 8, 1945.  About one year later they moved to Albany where they have resided for 62 years.  Leona retired from the Albany School District where she was a school secretary.Leona was a member of Willamette Community Church, formerly First Baptist Church in Albany.Leona is survived by husband, Raymond; daughter Delores R. Hamilton; sister Ola Sullivan; brother Thomas Hash; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home with burial to follow at Willamette Memorial Park.  AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements ( www.aasum-dufour.com ).
