Leonard Lee Steckley (Papa) gained his angel wings May 9th, 2024 in Albany, Oregon.

Leonard was born July 23rd, 1931 in Lebanon Oregon, to Lydia and Albert Steckley.

He served his country proudly in the Merchant Marines. He married the love of his life Arlene Samard December 7th, 1952 and together they shared 71 years.

Leonard was an extremely hard worker and loved every minute of it. He was a local 290 pipefitter and was very proud of his career.  He was well respected for his work ethic and integrity.

Leonard loved spending time with his family! He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports and eating good food.

He is survived by his daughters Diane & Lori, son Larry, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to the Lydia house at the Albany Mennonite Home for taking such good care of Leonard while in their care.  You are truly appreciated.

Another special thank you to the Raschein family for sharing Randy with Leonard and all of your kindnesses. Their friendship was something truly amazing and we are so blessed to have crossed paths with such a loving family. ♥
