Katie Pierce, 67, passed away Sunday morning at her home in Tangent.

Katie was born in Auburn, Wash., to John and Emma Gaiser. She married James D. Pierce in 1963 in Montesano, Wash. They remained together just two months shy of 50 years.

Katie is survived by her husband James; sons Ben, John, James and Sean; daughters Connie and Amber; brothers Fred and Lewis Gaiser; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was everybody's grandmother and always knew the answer to the "mom" questions. She loved shopping at the "gettin' places," games on the internet and supporting her children in their various musical bands. Her family was her greatest love.
