Lester Lee Williams, 90, of Albany passed away on Wednesday at the Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House.
Lester was born in Cove, Arkansas, to L.O. and Vina (Brown) Williams. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in Little Rock, Arkansas, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He married Dorothy M. Towry on Jan. 16, 1946. She preceded him in death in 2000. Lester had worked in the lumber industry for 20 years then as a scrap operator for Wah Chang for 20 years. He was a league bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Lester is survived by son Randy Williams and wife Lauri of Albany, and daughter Donna L. Bass of Albany; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and dear friend JoAnn White.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Shirley and son-in-law Ron Bass.
A private family graveside will be held at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens.
