Lincoln Arthur Oeder, 74, of Lebanon passed away on Tuesday at his residence.
Lincoln was born in Corvallis to Rudolph L. and Edna Mae (Lander) Oeder. He grew up in Lacomb, and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1957. Lincoln married his high school sweetheart, Yvonne J. O'Brien, on June 29, 1958, in Lebanon. They lived on Whidbey Island, Wash., from 1958 until 1961, while Lincoln was in the U.S. Marine Corps. They then moved back to Lebanon and had lived there since.
Lincoln attended Chemeketa Community College in Salem and graduated with an associate's degree in fire science in 1972. Lincoln had 25 years as a full-time firefighter and nine years as a volunteer before retiring in June of 1992.
He was a member of the Lacomb Grange and the Lebanon Geological Society, a life member of the Oregon Fire Chiefs Association, and a member of the International Fire Chiefs Association, the Western Fire Chiefs Association, the Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association and the Lebanon Volunteer Firefighters Association. He enjoyed quilting, woodworking, hunting and fishing.
Lincoln is survived by wife Yvonne Oeder of Lebanon; sons James Oeder of Pacific City and Brian Oeder of Lebanon; daughter Corinne Oeder of Lebanon; brothers Ernest Oeder of Kennewick, Wash., James Oeder of Pasco, Wash., and Michael Oeder of Lebanon; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
An Irish wake is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at the family home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home.
