Obituary

Linda Greenfield Hogan, 75, passed away on Friday, July 4, in Albany.
She was born in Caldwell, Idaho, to Kenneth and Eilleen (Conway) Greenfield. Linda grew up and attended school in Vale. She started at the College of Idaho and then continued her education at Oregon State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1961 and a master's in education in 1964. While at OSU she met Howard Hogan; they were married on June 19, 1966.
She taught school for several years before going into the distribution business with her husband. They owned and operated Hogan Distributing and Riverside-Hogan Distributing in Albany for 25 years, retiring in 1998. Following retirement they lived in Albany and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
Linda's pastimes included traveling, cruising and entertaining friends and family. She was an avid Oregon State football fan and enjoyed tailgating with friends. Linda had a zest for life and was always smiling and laughing. She touched many lives with her infectious spirit.
Linda is survived by her husband, Howard of Albany; two brothers, Gayle Greenfield of Caldwell, Idaho, and Roger Greenfield of Vale; stepson Michael Hogan of Eagle Point; four nieces, Carla Malson of Parma, Idaho, Karen Fernand of Boise, Idaho, Richelle Hayes, of Albany and Renae Harris of Vale; and four stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Greenfield; mother Eilleen Conway Greenfield; and stepdaughter Kim Hogan Cunningham.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the CH2M HILL Alumni Center on the Oregon State campus.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the ALS Association, 700 N.E. Multnomah St., #1180, Portland, OR 97232, or to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, 1046 Sixth Ave. S.W., Albany, OR 97321.
