Susie was born in Keenes, Illinois to Norman and Cora Mills. At a young age Susie's family moved to Oregon. Growing up Susie attended Hubbard schools.

Susie worked for David Douglas school district for thirty-three years, retiring as food services supervisor.

Susie loved being a snow bird where she spent winters in Parker, Az. Her and her late husband, Myron were always up for adventure. The two of them enjoyed camping, traveling, but most of all she loved to dance.

Susie is preceded in death by her husband Myron, sister Wilda, brothers Bryl, Alvis, Noel, Ermile, Bob and Grant.

Susie leaves behind her son Tom Trachsel of Virginia Beach, Stepdaughter Myra Abou-jamous(Ahmed), one grandson, two granddaughters, six great-grandsons, eight great-great-great-granddaughters, three great-great-great-grandsons, three step-granddaughters, one step-grandson, and four step-great-grandchildren. Susie also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
