IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Luann Jessie
Pearson
June 1, 1957 – October 10, 2021
LuAnn Jesse (Tate) Pearson was the matriarch of the Tate family after her mother Norma Jean Tate's passing in 2008.
We feel her loss deeply.
A generous soul, always a kind word and open mind, she was the first to help if she could. LuAnn hosted large family gatherings for years and was a wonderful cook and hostess with a warm welcoming nature. Much like her mother, LuAnn did not know a stranger, everyone was welcome at her table.
Survived by her husband Lynn Pearson; children Jennifer Hines, Christoper Smith, and James Beattie; siblings Bob Tate, Robin Tate, Marjorie Hogle, Monique Duncan, Janeen Hodges, Denise Vaughan, Robert Tate, and Diana Murrell, their spouses, and partners; grandchildren Emma Hines, and Austin Hines; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews; as well as many long terms friends.
AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home is handling the arrangements (www.aasum-dufour.com).
Luann was an animal lover and blessed with many good pets. Her beloved dog and faithful companion "Julio", joins this who are missing her very much. Ahead of her time, LuAnn was an entrepreneur, owning several businesses including Plaza Postal & Shipping in Albany where she was beloved by her community & staff. LuAnn owned a long running on-line resale shop spanning several years. Her shop was one of the very first eBay resale stores beginning even before eBay was a household name.
Born in Chicago, Illinois her family moved frequently but she kept in touch with close friends and family in several mid-west states. In her youth LuAnn loved to dance, knew all the words to the coolest songs, & would teach groovy dance routines to her siblings that she cared for like a second mom. She won ribbons in fast draw and racing and was one heck of a pool player. She enjoyed travel, trips to the coast, crocheting, on-line games, and occasional casino trips where she enjoyed Bingo and played Texas Holdem like a pro. LuAnn had the best luck, which is a true sign of her good karma.
